WEST Conference
An annual event held on campus at Harvey Mudd College, we welcome female
high school students in the area to visit our campus, participate in
a day of science and engineering workshops, and get a flavor of being
a female scientist for the day.
Participants have the opportunity to attend two workshops presented
by our female professors, one workshop in engineering and another workshop
in either biology, chemistry, computer science, mathematics, or physics.
Attending students are allowed a chance to listen and question a panel
of current female Mudd students from each technical major. In addition
the lunch and break times are good opportunities for participants to
chat with professors and current students. Lunch and snacks are provided.
This year, the conference was held on Saturday, March 4, 2006. 155
Participants pre-registered and more registered at the door.
