SWE Officer’s Meeting

Weekly meetings in Mitchell Room in Hoch during dinner at 6:00 pm Wednesdays
This Year’s Goals:
-create a more unified and social SWE by having more social activities
inviting other SWE chapters (Cal Poly, Caltech, UCI, etc.)
more events with other clubs on campus
-mentoring freshman (pair upperclassmen with a freshman)
also online mentoring (MentorNet)
mentoring with female engineers from companies
-host more snack/study breaks
Taco Tuesdays
Midnight slurpee runs
Donut runs
Meet at Muddhole
-have more BBQs, bonfires, new/old officer fun days, sleepovers!
-do birthday announcements (perhaps card/candy in mailbox)
for officers, active members, and all female professors
Anu will find out the birthdays of the female professors and Diana will keep track
-have more social time after Women in Engineering and Science forums, more relaxed
-have more guest speakers, during meetings perhaps invite alumnis
-an officer’s retreat (before big events), maybe sleepovers

First Meeting
-Next Wednesday, Sept. 13 @ 6:00pm in Green Room, Hoch
-Take meal card numbers and order pizza from Hoch
Upcoming Activities
-Club Fair, send around a sign up sheet to sign up for times at the booth
-Thai Food Event, Sept. 21st, Thursday, 5:30 pm in Hixon Court
-Miss SWE Pageant, maybe 2 weeks after fall break
invite Jacobson to be MC
invite more male professors to judge alongside female professors
-National SWE Conference (Kansas City, Oct 12-14), not sure who can go
-WEST Conference, March 3rd (preregister before 30th)
Keynote speaker: maybe Ione Fine
Start booklet now, update professor profiles, new officers
-ON Semiconductors, Oct 26th Power solutions, etc. (electrical and chemical engineers)
-Fundraisers, have T-Shirt sales, have to update top 10 list

-Transportation (no one has car, only Prof Lape)
-Lucia has MuddVan approval
-For supplies, might get Costco card from Pomona?
-Tia will make sure all officers can access SWE folders
